Reuben is around 5–6 years old, and he has been with us for quite some time. He came from a very difficult situation, and while we don’t share the details, his behaviour tells us everything we need to know about how hard life once was for him.

Reuben is an unsure, slow‑to‑trust dog who takes a long time to relax around new people. But once he knows you, he is deeply loyal — the kind of dog who forms a strong, lifelong bond with the humans he feels safe with.

Reuben is not comfortable around other dogs, and because of his history and emotional needs, we feel he would struggle to settle in a home environment.

For his welfare and safety, Reuben will remain with us as a permanent resident, where his world can stay predictable, supported, and free from pressure.

Sponsorship helps us provide the things Reuben relies on every day:

• Enrichment that keeps his mind busy and his stress low

• Vet care

• Safe routines and structured handling

• Comfort items and calm activities that help him feel secure

Your support ensures Reuben can continue living a life that protects his emotional wellbeing — something he has always deserved.
