Macy is six years old and was born right in the middle of lockdown. Because the world was so quiet back then, she didn’t get the chance to learn much about people, places, or other animals. As a result, she’s a grown‑up girl who can still find a lot of things quite scary.

Macy is a dog who copes by keeping her distance until she feels safe. She doesn’t bark, lunge, or make a fuss — she simply chooses space. New people, dogs, cats, and anything unpredictable can worry her, and she can be unsure about human hands when she doesn’t know someone yet. Fast movements make her nervous, so she needs calm, gentle humans who let her decide when she’s ready.

With the people she trusts, Macy is soft, loving, and deeply loyal. She tries very hard to get things right and thrives on predictable routines and quiet companionship.

 

Her medical situation

Macy has hip dysplasia and is on pain medication to keep her comfortable. She manages well with this, but we understand that many adopters feel unsure about taking on a dog with a long‑term condition. That’s why we would be happy for her to go to a long‑term foster home or adoption.
