Ernie is a handsome 5–6‑year‑old black and tan German Shepherd who came into rescue after a disagreement with his previous owner. Despite this, Ernie remained affectionate and friendly with everyone else around him, greeting people like long‑lost friends.

During his time with us, Ernie has shown himself to be a happy, fun‑loving, people‑focused boy. He adores ball games and will proudly bring his ball back again and again if you’re willing to keep playing. We have seen no signs of aggression with familiar people or strangers — he is warm, enthusiastic, and genuinely enjoys human company.

Ernie can react to other dogs, but we feel this is driven more by excitement than intent. However, when he was adopted, Ernie could not cope at all and became extremely distressed. For his emotional wellbeing and long‑term safety, we have made the decision that Ernie will remain with us as a permanent resident.
