Tyler here, I’ve been practising what I’d say if someone asked me what kind of home I’m dreaming about, so here goes.

I haven’t been in kennels very long, but I already know it’s not really my style. The people are lovely, but I’m a “be with my humans” sort of lad. I like to know where you are, what you’re doing, and whether you might possibly have a spare hand for a fuss. I greet everyone like a long‑lost friend — because what if they are one? You never know.

I’m a fabulous boy to have around, honestly. I love going for long sniffy walks where I can take my time and read all the smells. Nothing phases me — dogs, people, children, traffic, the world doing its thing — I just enjoy being out and about. After a good walk, I settle beautifully and have a proper snooze. My favourite sleeping position is upside down, legs in the air, dignity nowhere to be seen.

I’m brilliant in the car too. I travel like a pro, watching everything go by. I do get a bit excited when we arrive but I’m learning to wait nicely.

There is one tiny detail… I’m an escape artist. So I’ll need proper 6ft fencing with nothing leaning against it that I can climb. And at first, in the garden, I’ll need a long line and harness until I understand that this is home and I don’t need to go looking for anything else.

I haven’t lived with other dogs, and because I love humans so much — really, truly, wholeheartedly — I’d be happiest as the only pet. I want to be someone’s special boy, the one who gets all the fuss, all the attention, all the upside‑down naps.

​

So my perfect home or foster home would be with someone who’s around most of the time, enjoys walks, and can help me settle into real life. I promise I’ll give you everything I’ve got. I just need someone steady, kind, and ready to let me love them.
