Hello… I’m Bear.

Some people call me Mr Eyebrows or Mr Oversized Fluffy Cloud. I can’t argue with that — my eyebrows are very expressive and my fur is unbelievably soft. I actually enjoy going to the groomers because they take their time with me and let me settle.

I’m somewhere around seven years old, give or take. I’m a steady lad who likes a calm home and people who move at my pace. I’d love someone who’s around a good amount of the time, especially while I’m settling in. Once we’ve built things up slowly, I can manage short periods on my own.

I do a little whinge in the car when we’re heading out — that’s just excitement. On the way home, I’m quiet as anything.

Walks are one of my favourite parts of the day. I’m a proper sniffer. Every scent tells a story, and I like to take my time reading them. I’m hoping for someone who won’t rush me or try to “get the walk done”. Slow, thoughtful walks suit me best.

About other dogs… I’d prefer to be the only dog in the home. When I’ve got enough distance — like the other side of the road — I can walk past calmly. If another dog gets too close, I can get a bit over‑aroused and ramped up all excited, and that can make things tricky. A bit of space, or crossing the road, helps me stay settled so I can have a look and then carry on.

One of my favourite things is sitting on a bench next to you, watching the world go by before we wander off for more sniffing.

I don’t think I’ve ever lived with children. I can’t remember, and because children can be loud and fast‑moving, I’d prefer a home with grown‑ups only.

No cats for me, thank you. Birds and ducks I can ignore.

​
