​Arnie is just two years old, and despite his size, he is a gentle, affectionate boy who simply hasn’t had the right start in life. He came to us described as “reactive to everything”, but once we got to know him it became clear he is not aggressive — he is a young dog who has had very little socialisation, very few experiences, and a sheltered routine that left him unsure how to cope with the world.

Understanding Arnie’s Medical Needs
As we spent time with him, we noticed his gait wasn’t quite right. X rays confirmed hip dysplasia, and after consulting with a veterinary pain management specialist, Arnie is being treated conservatively with medication rather than surgery.

Since starting his pain relief, Arnie has come on in leaps and bounds — more comfortable, more confident, and far more able to enjoy life. He is ready for a home where he can continue this progress.

We understand that many people feel unsure about adopting a dog with hip dysplasia. That’s why we’re looking for a long-term foster home or an adoption — someone who can offer stability, comfort, and companionship without the financial pressure of managing a medical condition.
