Arnie is a 20 month old youngster who has only been with us a little over a week, and it’s been a big change for him. He arrived as a very nervous boy, so he isn’t ready for adoption just yet. For now, we’re giving him time, structure, and gentle support while we assess his needs and help him build confidence at his own pace.

Despite his worries, Arnie is already showing really positive early signs. He’s beginning to form safe, predictable relationships with staff and has met several new people calmly. 

As he settles into his new routine, Arnie is starting to show more of his natural behaviour. He enjoys stretching his legs with a good gallop around the paddock, and he’s beginning to choose interaction by coming over for fuss when he feels ready. These small, voluntary steps tell us he’s processing his environment well and learning that people can be safe and consistent.
